Rannanmies

Pitkin rantaviivaa elää yksinäisiä miehiä, joita kutsutaan rannan erakoiksi tai ajopuumiehiksi. He ovat jääneet rannalle seuraamaan meren ikuista leikkiä. Kaikki heistä kutsuvat merta vaimokseen ja he asuvat jonkin matkan päästä toisistaan, jotteivat aiheuttaisi kateutta.

Men of the Coastline

Along the coast there are lonely men who are called the Hermits of the Strand or sometimes the Driftwood Men. They have stayed here to watch the endless play of the sea. All of them call her their wife and they live some distance from each other in order not to rouse jealousy.

These men live in huts given by the sea. They listen to the stories of the salty winds and are known for their skill in prophesy.
